Coverack is one of the most picturesque and romantic villages in Cornwall, loved by both visitors and locals alike. Steeped in local history, the village was renowned as a smugglers' haunt during years gone by. Still retaining its original character, the area remains largely unspoilt by modern man. The Mediterranean-like climate makes it a perfect holiday resort. The Lizard Peninsula is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. Coverack is a prime example of this accolade, being an exceptional base for spectacular coastal walks. The English Coastal footpath runs through the heart of Coverack, indeed the footpath runs past all of our cottages. The village is within view of the renowned Manacle Rocks where many sailing clippers and steamers came to grief. The quaint little harbour nestles into the south side of the bay, where maritime pursuits such as boating, fishing and windsurfing may be arranged. Coverack's sandy beach is safe and clean for bathing. There are many local facilities including shops, a Post Office, village pub and restaurants, one of which specialises in locally caught fresh fish. The village has ample public parking facilities.

Enjoying magnificent views over Coverack bay, this romantic
pink 17th Century thatched cottage overlooks the sea from the
centre of the village. Trevarrow, one of the oldest
smugglers cottages, is full of character with original
shipwreck beams and a chimney breast once used as a
smugglers hide-a-way. The dining room features an original
inglenook with a log burner, ideal for those chiller evenings.
The cottage is spacious, warm and cosy with an enclosed front
garden. Gaze out to sea whilst enjoying the "cottagey"
atmosphere of the open beamed sitting room. The cottage has a large and well equipped kitchen - breakfast room. Upstairs, all three bedrooms are equally charming, tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. After a busy days sightseeing, relax in the front garden and enjoy uninterrupted views overlooking Coverack bay, Lowland point and beyond. |
